02 Apr Waking Up Your Landscape
As winter releases its hold, our Estate Care teams are hard at work preparing your property for a thriving spring season. Here’s a glimpse of the activities underway:
Waking Up Your Landscape
We’re removing winter wrappings, cutting back ornamental grasses, edging the beds, and addressing winter damage. Meadow mowing is in full swing, and we’re ready to repair any vole damage with over seeding and topdressing.
Assessing and Adjusting the Garden 🌿
This is the time for thoughtful evaluation. What plants thrived last year? What struggled or didn’t survive the winter? We’re analyzing your garden’s current condition to recommend adjustments—whether it’s dividing overgrown perennials, refreshing soil with nutrients, or reimagining areas that need a boost.
Fertilizing Treatments
We’re taking soil tests around lawn and bed areas to assess nutrient and salinity levels so we can make necessary adjustments. Replenishing the soil with nutrients will protect your plants and ensure a strong, healthy start to the growing season.
🍅 Vegetable Gardening
Now’s the time to plan! Some herbs and veggies you’ll want to start indoors, while others will wait to direct sow. Most planting should happen after the last frost date, which is April 11th on average in Rhode Island.
